Claas introduces the new Axion 8 Cmatic tractor range. It replaces the current Axion 800 series with three six-cylinder models designed for improved efficiency, comfort, automation and digital connectivity. The tractors deliver maximum outputs ranging from 240 to 290 hp, increasing to 313 hp with the Dynamic Power management system.

The new range with Visor front design combines proven mechanical components with a redesigned cab, updated electronics architecture and intelligent driver assistance systems. According to Claas, the tractors are suitable for field work, grassland operations and road transport, while also supporting future-ready digital farming and driver-supervised autonomous operation.

Power comes from the latest-generation 6.7-litre FPT NEF six-cylinder engine, delivering up to 1,282 Nm of torque.

The tractors feature Dynamic Power, which automatically allocates engine output between the transmission, PTO, hydraulics and auxiliary systems to maximize productivity while reducing fuel consumption.

Combined with the continuously variable Cmatic transmission and Auto Droop engine-speed management, the system automatically adapts performance to changing operating conditions without driver intervention.

Maintenance intervals have also been extended, with engine oil changes now required every 750 operating hours instead of 600, reducing operating costs and downtime. The engines are approved for hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) fuel, enabling significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions.

A key innovation is the AI-supported adaptive drivetrain management system with Auto Load Anticipation, which received a silver medal at Agritechnica 2025. The system predicts load changes before they occur, adjusting engine speed and transmission settings in advance to maintain performance and minimize fuel use. This enables less experienced operators to achieve consistently high efficiency across a wide range of applications.

Silent cab

The Axion 8 Cmatic also introduces a completely redesigned cab, first seen on the larger Axion 9. With a maximum interior noise level of just 67 dB(A). Premium seating options include heating, ventilation and massage functions, while an expanded interior provides greater comfort, storage space and visibility.

The new Cebis connect control system forms the center of the operator environment. The system supports one or two 12-inch touchscreens, integrated GPS guidance, ISOBUS implement control and automated headland management. Three built-in digital cameras improve visibility, while additional external camera connections support specialized implements.

Connectivity has been significantly expanded through Claas connect, enabling remote fleet management, job planning, documentation, machine monitoring and precision farming applications. Operators can access machine status, field progress and performance data remotely, while work orders can be created in the office and transferred directly to the tractor.

The tractors also introduce new automation features, including Auto CSM headland management and automatic reference track switching, reducing operator workload during precision field operations.

Autonomous operation

One of the most advanced features is compatibility with Claas’s Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), enabling driver-supervised autonomous field operations. Pre-planned work orders can be executed automatically, including steering, obstacle avoidance, headland turns and variable-rate application based on digital field maps. Although the system performs tasks autonomously, the operator remains in the cab to supervise operations and can take control whenever necessary.

Additional features include a new 360-degree LED lighting package, dynamic steering, automatic trailer overrun braking and new tyre options designed to improve transport efficiency.

To support long-term ownership, Claas is introducing expanded Maxi Care service packages. A five-year or 5,000-hour warranty covering key drivetrain components is included at no additional cost, while extended protection can cover the entire machine for up to eight years or 8,000 operating hours.
